Provincial Music Presents "Daisy Rock Camp 2003"

You Girl\'s Rock!

St. John’s, Newfoundland is now on the map for rocking with the best of them! The 1st annual Daisy Rock Camp which taught the ins and outs of playing guitar in a pop/rock band to over 40 junior high and high school girls, took place July 21st through August 1 2003 in St. John\'s, NF Canada.

Inspired by the Daisy Rock/Alfred Publishing line of guitars, Provincial Music: The Conservatory kicked off the first annual Daisy Rock Camp for girls this summer. Camp Director Angela Dawe carefully chose the faculty that would make this project soar. Newfoundland’s own Kelly-Ann Evans, Jackie Sullivan, Liz Pickard and Denise Lear were four of the women who rose to the occasion. For some national flavour, Toronto’s Maureen Brown-Gratton, drummer extraordinaire was flown in for the project. These five women, along with Director, Angela Dawe brought an enormous amount of talent, experience, enthusiasm and love to Daisy Rock 2003.

"Due to immense support from our sponsors, our dedicated teachers, and our amazing girls, Daisy Rock 2003 was a great success!" says Angela Dawe, "Looking forward to Daisy Rock 2004!" Yeah girls!
