Denise Vasquez, 3rd Place Winner in Daisy Rock's New Artist Contest, Signs Up as a New Artist Endorser


Daisy Rock Guitars is pleased to announce that singer/guitarist and songwriter Denise Vasquez, our Third Place Winner in the Daisy Rock New Artist Contest this past summer, has signed up as one of our newest artist endorsers.

Denise has been compared to "Janis Joplin meets Jewel," and her considerable vocal range and songwriting talents have earned her the praise of critics and industry alike. She is a four-time winner of the ASCAP Performing Songwriters Award (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006), and has also been selected by Music Connection Magazine to be on their Hot 100 List for Four Consecutive Years (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005).

Denise has released two self-produced albums, Live In One Take and Fighting Darkness. In September, Denise released her third album, Frame of Mind, recorded in Nashville with producer Lauren Stalnecker. Frame Of Mind features Denise singing and playing guitar on ten fully produced songs which she wrote and co-produced. Track 11 on her album is an acoustic, intimate, Spanish/English version of Lowen and Navarro\'s 80\'s Hit "We Belong."

Denise has been featured on several radio shows, including KPFK 90.7 FM’s "Arts In Review," 88.5 FM’s "Tied To The Tracks," the VM Underground, Doogz.Net, Engage Radio, MusicToGoUSA.com, Classic FM, and MusicForte. As a live performer, Denise has played at some of the most respected venues in the world, including The Cavern Club (UK), The Bitter End (NYC), Borders Bookstores (CA), The El Rey Theatre(CA), and Caneel Bay (USVI). She has also played at several charity events, including Relay For Life, Worldfest, South Central Farm Aid, Women For A Cause, and World Vegan Day.

Denise has also had a successful acting career, with appearances in feature Films like Carlito\'s Way, Jungle Fever, and Malcolm X, as well as TV shows like Law & Order and Saturday Night Live. You can also see her dancing in Kenny Chesney\'s music video for "How Forever Feels."
