Daisy Rock sponsors the Girls Rock Fest Benefit to raise funds for the new documentary "Girls Rock!" (3/26/06)

Daisy Rock Guitars is proud to sponsor the Girls Rock Fest Benefit in San Francisco, CA on Sunday March 26th. The benefit is being held to help raise funds for the new documentary "Girls Rock!". Event organizers are raffling off all kinds of great prizes, including a Daisy Rock Atomic Pink Rock Candy Guitar!

"Girls Rock!" follows four girls attending Portland, Oregon\'s Rock \'N\' Roll Camp for Girls, one of several summer music camps Daisy Rock has had the opportunity to participate in. Rock \'N\' Roll Camp for Girls does more than just show campers how to play music - the camp also teaches girls about self-confidence, strength and empowerment.

The Girls Rock Fest Benefit will take place at Bottom of the Hill and will feature seven amazing bands, half of whom are between the ages of 12 and 17. Girls will be encouraged to go up on stage and try out instruments and mics before the show, and band members will oversee stations between acts where girls can try out musical equipment. Tables will also be available where girls can learn about the various things outside of music that the camp emphasizes, like body image awareness, self-defense, and more. And, girls who are interested will help shoot a video of the whole event! The filmmakers will also show a special extended (10 minute) preview of the movie.

Bottom of the Hill is located at 1233 17th Street in San Francisco, CA. Doors open at 3pm, and the bands start at 4pm. Tickets are available through www.ticketweb.com and admission is $8.
