Daisy Rock sponsors the 2nd Annual Momapalooza Detroit, featuring The Mydols - enter to win a Champagne Sparkle Rock Candy Guitar! (5/5/06)

Daisy Rock is proud to sponsor Momapalooza Detroit, being held on May 5th at the Royal Oak Music Theater in Royal Oak, Michigan.

The concert is being held to raise funds for the new downtown Detroit Boll Family YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign, which makes membership, programs, childcare and day camp affordable to Detroit families and individuals in need. The evening’s concert will feature performances by Daisy Rock artists The Mydols, Detroit Women with Motor City Express, The Candy Band, and headliner Kathy Valentine (of the Go-Go’s) & The Impossible. Lynne Woodison, host of the WCSX 94.7 Classic Rock morning show in Detroit, will emcee the evening.

In support of this event, Daisy Rock has donated a Champagne Sparkle Rock Candy Guitar. Stop by www.mydols.com to enter to win the guitar in a raffle being held on the evening of the show.

In addition to the show, the lobby area of the theatre will host a mini "Mom Mall" with last minute gift ideas for Mother\'s Day. Some of the vendors include Kitty Deluxe, Scents of Delight, Catching Fireflies, A Step Outside of the Box, and Mistyque. You can even pick out an Avanti Press Mother\'s Day card or get a chair massage between musical performances. Plans are also under discussion with Los Angeles filmmaker Kate Perotti to make a concert film of the event.

Detroit Mamapalooza will be one of over 30 similar events to be held in cities nationwide this May, culminating in a New York City concert featuring top mom bands, including Detroit’s Mydols and Candy Band. Mamapalooza is the brainchild of New York mom Joy Rose who, with her band Housewives on Prozac, organized the first annual Mamapalooza in New York in 2001.
