Daisy Rock Guitars sponsors a New Future Records event: a Night of Rock and Funk with the Women of the New Future, at Mulcahy's, NY.

LONG ISLAND, NY -- New Future Records, Inc., is a new, rapidly growing, "grass-roots" independent record label on Long Island, made up of a cadre of people with a long standing in the independent music industry in and around Long Island, New York City, and the world.

Label President and Chief Executive Officer Scott DeLuca has been actively involved in the Long Island and New York City nightclub circuit for nearly 20 years. He has been the successful owner and mastermind of Backstreet Blues, Scotty Dee\'s, and Revolution, amongst other now-legendary Long Island nightclubs. He is also the lead singer and guitar player in the art-rock outfit The Incredible Dollface.

Vice President Bernadette Giacomazzo does double duty as a freelance writer and poet who has written for In Music We Trust, Music Industry News Network, Good Times, Long Island Entertainment, The Island Ear, Rockzone.com, and College Music, amongst other publications. Once a successful print model in Europe, she has also worked for WDSR-FM (90.7 -- Pittsburgh, PA) as a disc jockey, and was assistant producer of Higher Minds Radio on WLIR-FM (92.7 -- Long Island, NY). She is also the "voice" of the Long Island Music Scene, whose "Homegrown Report" -- a monthly A&R-type review of WBAB-FM\'s weekly Homegrown local music series at Dave Glicker\'s Downtown in Farmingdale, Long Island, NY -- in Long Island Entertainment magazine has been a runaway success, garnering the recognition and praise of industry professionals and musicians alike.

Executive Assistant Vice President Claire Edwards is a native of Southampton, England, who brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to the New Future table. She is also a professional music photographer who has photographed the likes of Aerosmith, Janet Jackson, Alice Cooper, Skunk Anasie, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Craig David, Dave Matthews Band, Queensryche, Fuel, Nickelback, Status Joe, and hundreds more. Her work has appeared in Metal Edge, US Magazine, Long Island Entertainment, and other respected publications in New York; she has a permanent exhibit in the Guild Hall of Southhampton\'s Modern Art and Photography wing; and she has been on tour with the industry\'s most notable artists. She is also proud to represent the International Photographers On-Line (IPOL) Photographic Agency in New York City.

Besides providing standard distribution services, New Future Records also provides booking assistance, merchandising, promotions assistance, demo critiques, radio airplay assistance, and much more. They are proud to tout themselves as "Long Island\'s Premiere Independent Record Label," who offer a variety of full services and personal care.

Now, New Future Records is proud to announce their most notable event to date. On November 7th, 2002, New Future Records is proud to be hosting a Night of Rock and Funk with the Women of the New Future, at Mulcahy\'s, on Railroad Avenue in Wantagh, Long Island, NY, a popular venue which can hold about 1,000 people. The night is sponsored in part by LongIsland.com, Women in Rock and Daisy Rock Guitars.

SonicBlonde will be opening the festivities with their unique blend of rock and funk. Led by the energetic and charismatic Tracey Wolf, the former Homegrown favorites have recently won top honors in the prestigious Good Times/Long Island Music Festival, which will be taking them to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas this spring.

The rock and funk of SonicBlonde will be immediately followed by the glam-rock stylings of New York City\'s own Pretty Suicide. Courtney Criss is the dynamic starlet that has earned the band a dynamic and commandeering reputation on the brutal New York City nightclub circuit. Prior to playing this benefit, Pretty Suicide has dazzled the Continental, the Meow Mix, and the Downtown stages.

The Nappy Head Funk Army, the night\'s headliners, boast an impressive funk resume that summons the spirit of such "old-school" funksters as Parliament Funkadelic, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Commodores, and Rick James. Head Funkster Tanya Tillett is the focal point of this ten-piece Staten Island-based band, who have rocked the stages of The Downtown and Le Bar Bat, and have a permanent tenure at The Funky Phish.

Tickets are $10.00 in advance and $12.00 on the day of the show. The show begins promptly at 8:00 PM and will be followed by an "all-star" jam at the end of the night. You never know just who might turn up to jam the night away!!

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Carol M. Baldwin Foundation, a Long Island not-for-profit organization known for its work in the fight against breast cancer. Besides the promotion on the New Future Records, Inc., end, Mulcahy\'s will hang an in-house banner, as well as produce a 15-second radio "tag," and participate in standard Ticketmaster promotions, as this is a Ticketmaster event. New Future Records is getting regular press coverage, and they are in the process of securing the participation of the local radio stations.

In short, this is expected to be an unforgettable night of live music in celebration of women in rock, with a large music-loving crowd, and a chance to raise money for a worthy cause!
