Daisy Rock Girl Guitars Welcomes Katie McDowell to its Artist Roster

LOS ANGELES, CA – January 28, 2013
Daisy Rock Girl Guitars, the original girl guitar company, welcomes to its artist roster Katie McDowell, the bass guitarist for the Tennessee-based Kosmic Girlz & Koltrane Band.

The Kosmic Girlz & Koltrane Band is made up of sisters Krystal (piano), Klaira (vocals, guitar) and Katie McDowell (bass guitar), along with their cousin Colton Berry (drums). The sisters began their musical journey early in life. By the age of 3 each one had been introduced to several instruments and became actively involved in music lessons. Since 2009, they have played at multiple venues and events including the Hard Rock Café in Nashville, Silky O'Sullivans in Memphis, the Oaklawn Opry, the Quadrangle Festival, numerous charity events, and more. In 2010 the girls decided to add their talented cousin, Colton Berry, to the band as the drummer. Together they produce a rich and full sound.

Soon after adding Colton, the band traveled to Nashville to train with Tom Jackson, a highly-acclaimed live music producer. His work has helped shape the live shows of many artists including Taylor Swift, Jars of Clay, Jordin Sparks, James Bryan, Casting Crowns and many others. The band continuously uses their musical education to create a stage act that is both technically skilled and crowd pleasing.

“Katie plays with her two sisters in this truly all-American smooth sounding band. They are a treat to hear – harmonies galore, and talent shows through with every flick of their hair!” says Tish Ciravolo, President and Founder of Daisy Rock Girl Guitars.
