Daisy Rock Girl Guitars Welcomes Destiny of Petrel to its Artist Roster

LOS ANGELES, CA – May 22, 2012
Daisy Rock Girl Guitars, the original girl guitar company, welcomes to its artist roster Destiny, lead guitarist in her sister-band Petrel who shares an infectious, charming, and energetic pop/rock sound.

Destiny rocks out on guitar as the youngest member of her all-girl band, with sisters Jessica (singer) and Rebekah (keys and drums). Whether they’re rocking the clubs of Greenwich Village, on a 17-city national tour or playing for crowds of kids at places like Disneyland® Park in Anaheim, CA or Bloomingdale’s flagship store in the heart of New York City, it doesn’t take long for audiences to fall in love with the girls.

Destiny proves to be a vital aspect of the band, recording acoustic and electric guitars and background vocals. Her and her sisters are not only accomplished musicians, but also songwriters. They thrive off building songs creatively and lyrically, writing about their own life experiences and relating to their generation. Growing up in a musical family, Destiny doesn’t recall a time when she didn’t play music. “Everything inspires me,” says Destiny. “Musicians/artists like Hendrix to Debbie Harry to different painters, photographers, and writers.” She describes her sisters as “best friends” and that working with them is really easy.

Born and raised in Long Island, New York the Petrel sisters were introduced to the art harmony and stage presence by their musical family at an early age. As children, most of the girls’ three-part harmonizing and encore performances took place at the church where their father ministered. However, it wasn’t long after their dad recognized that his daughters’ talents were destined for something bigger.

The girls soon found themselves playing some of the hippest, most well known venues in NYC. At each show the crowds seemed to grow larger and larger, until Petrel soon was known throughout New York for their big talents and for turning out an even bigger audience! Adding to their local concerts, the girls began with what is now their annual trip to Mexico and Haiti where they perform for some of the country’s most impoverished children and bringing food, clothing, and toys. Their evening concerts draw many and through their music many lives are inspired.

The girls has been on a 17-city national tour, including several performance at venues such as “Disney’s Indie Fest USA” in Downtown Disneyland in Anaheim, CA; pre-game show for the Orlando Magic and The Michael Jackson Thriller 25th Anniversary Fan Event Tribute in Times Square, NY; acoustic performances at Bloomingdale’s special event, “Girls Night Out;” and Sephora’s “Toys of Hope Holiday Toy Drive.”

“Hey, I must have been adopted because how could I not be the 4th Petrel sister? They are the rock queens from Long Island, so pretty and Destiny can play that guitar, check her out,” said Tish Ciravolo, President and Founder of Daisy Rock Girl Guitars. “Which is kind of hard because they all are so cool, so beautiful, and dammit!  You sure I wasn’t the older sister?”
