Music Connection Magazine Sponsors USA Songwriting Competition.

I would like to invite you to participate in the prestigious 2002 USA Songwriting Competition, sponsored by Music Connection magazine (see entry form found in Vol XXVI, issue No 6, inside back cover). We are looking for great songwriters/artists like you to win!

The USA Songwriting Competition is also sponsored by Mackie, Steinberg, Audio Technica, Sonic Foundry, Electronic Musician magazine, Fender/Guild Guitars, D\'Addario Strings, Onstage magazine, GigAmerica, Superdups, Musician.com, ASN, LiveWireContacts.com, Bandwear.com, and Acoustic Café radio program. USA Songwriting Competition also sponsors a monthly music showcase in Los Angeles every month at the Knitting Factory.

RADIO AIRPLAY & GREAT PRIZES
Entrants stand to win a grand prize of over US$50,000 in cash and merchandise and exposure, making this the largest prize package in any annual songwriting competition. Also, winners\' songs will be featured on a nationally syndicated radio program serving over 60 cities in the US and Canada, courtesy of Acoustic Café radio show - first for any songwriting competition! Judges include record labels such as Warner/Reprise Records, SONY Music, Epic Records, Mars Music Records and Peer Music. Also, winners of the past years competition have performed at SXSW and NAMM music convention.

USA Songwriting Competition has been known to give songwriters exposure. Many winners in the past have received recording and publishing contracts, as well as having their songs placed on film and television.

Bands and singer-songwriters that have won in the past include Rye, Circle 8, Epstein\'s Mother, Greg Tannen, Steve Tannen, Jonathan Kingham, Jennifer Marks, Adrianne and more.

Also, an A&R from Epic Records called me, I had a nice write-up in Billboard magazine, Music Connection magazine and had a write-up \'MP3 Artist Success Story\' on MP3.com," said Jennifer Marks, a prolific singer-songwriter who won the First Prize in the Rock category and the Overall Second Prize, has won numerous music competitions and said this was her biggest win.

Songs may be entered in 15 different categories including Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Rock and Country. It is aimed at promoting excellence in the art of songwriting among writers, composers, bands, singer/songwriters and solo artists in an international forum. Entries are accepted from now through May 31, 2002.
