Daisy Rock sponsors Rock the Classroom's 2nd Annual Point & Click Ball and Online Auction

10/10/2006

Daisy Rock is proud to sponsor Rock the Classroom\'s 2nd Annual Point & Click Ball and Online Auction!

The Point & Click Ball and Online Auction gives you the chance to bid on some amazing, one-of-a-kind rock and roll memorabilia. Some of this year’s auction items include: a brand new Daisy Rock Guitar (see page 8 of the auction list); a Jimi Hendrix lithograph; a session in a state-of-the-art recording studio; autographed electric guitars by Jet, Kenny Loggins & Jim Messina, Coldplay, and Ben Harper; a day with the Dodgers; a year of free movie screenings at the Warner lot; a one-on-one poker lesson with world champion Erik Seidel; concert tickets; autographed CDs, t-shirts, posters, songbooks, and DVDs by Korn, System of a Down, AC/DC, The Who, Rage Against the Machine, Van Halen, Queensryche; and so much more. For a complete list of items, visit www.rocktheclassroom.org/auction.html.

All money raised from the auction will be donated to Rock the Classroom, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) "literacy through music" program. Each week, Rock the Classroom’s musicians go to under-privileged inner-city schools in LA, and use music to reinforce key literacy skills such as reading, writing, and comprehension. The kids are 5th grade students and for many of them, English is their second language.

The kids learn about the blues, rock, folk, hip hop and world music, and they get to play music and write songs based on the subjects they study in school. For most of them, it’s the only creative musical experience they’re likely to receive in school, and Rock the Classroom is the highlight of their week.
