Daisy Rock Girl Guitars Welcomes Monica Matocha to its Artist Roster

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 6, 2012
Daisy Rock Girl Guitars, the original girl guitar company, welcomes to its artist roster Monica Matocha, a young heart with a unique pop/rock sound that’s magnetizing fans the world over.

Monica grew up near Houston, TX, learning and progressing in a competitive environment by winning many regional and national dance competitions. After turning to music, the confidence she gained growing up is easily conveyed the moment her fingers fasten around the grip of a microphone. In 2007, she joined a young pop group that caught the eye of Mathew Knowles of Music World Entertainment. After being signed with Knowles, the group was featured on Radio Disney and was considered for a spin-off of highly-successful television show Hannah Montana. While the group eventually fell apart, Monica continued to pursue her own sound that continues to inspire and draw fans. She and her producer, John Glover (former artist signed to RCA under Ron Fair and Bruce Flohr), believed so strongly in her music that they transformed Monica’s place into a recording studio. “I learned more about ‘gear’ than I ever wanted to,” said Monica, “but it was worth it in the end.”

Crediting her success to expression without a filter, her determination has propelled her single current single “Impostor” into the top 75 on the US Mediabase Pop Charts and #3 on the Independent Artists/New Releases chart three months after the release. In addition, Matocha snagged “Best Female Vocals” and “Best Pop Artist” at the Houston Press Music Awards on November 11, 2011, winning every category she was nominated in.

“Fun! . . . is what I have to say about Monica’s music!  I just want to drive my convertible car down Pacific Coast Highway with my hair blowing in the wind and listening to her songs loud,” said Tish Ciravolo, President and Founder of Daisy Rock Girl Guitars. “They make me feel all summery inside! Let’s have a convertible party and have Monica play! Where’s Moondoggie when you need him?”

Although Monica’s first love is music, she also has a fashion streak and creates vintage and innovative jewelry that adds extra spark to her performances. Her latest novelties include lava beads, bone bracelets and contemporary bullet necklaces.
